Second day in our 5 day-Morocco desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, After breakfast at the hotel in Ouarzazate, we’ll set off for Skoura. There, we’ll explore the beautiful Kasbah of Amredil nestled in the palm groves along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Our journey will then lead us through the Valley of Roses, where we’ll encounter the possibility of visiting a nomadic family dwelling in caves. Next, we’ll venture into the rugged terrain, offering a chance to admire the stunning rock formations of the Dades Gorges.

Continuing onwards, we’ll make our way to Boumalne Dades, where we’ll take a break for lunch. In the afternoon, our travels will lead us to Tineghir and then to the Todra Gorges, where we’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the canyon. Finally, we’ll conclude our day with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

This morning, you’ll wander through the Palm Plantations, enjoying the beautiful views of the Todra River. Then, we’ll drive to Tinjedad for lunch at a local spot. Along the way, we’ll pass by small villages like Touroug and El-Jarf before reaching Erfoud. There, you can check out a workshop where locals make fossils.

Afterwards, we’ll head to the amazing Erg Chebbi dunes, also known as the Merzouga Dunes. Once we arrive at the hotel, get ready for a camel ride that lasts about an hour and a half, just in time to catch the stunning sunset. You’ll ride to the campsite or a traditional nomad tent where you’ll spend the night. Dinner will be served, and you’ll experience the magic of sleeping under the stars in the middle of the dunes.

Wake up early to catch the beautiful sunrise from the closest dune. After a tasty breakfast at the camp, we’ll begin our adventure in the Merzouga desert. Our trusty 4×4 SUV will take us to meet the Berber Nomads living behind the dunes. Learn about their lifestyle and culture as they survive in this remote area. We’ll also visit the deserted village of Miffis, enjoy Gnawa music in Khamlia village, and maybe see the Lake of Birds if it’s full.

After lunch, we’ll head to your Riad for check-in and some free time. Take a swim or stroll to the nearby dunes. Dinner will be served in the evening, and you’ll spend the night at your Riad. You can also choose to stay another night at the desert camp if you’d like.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your Riad, we’ll embark on our journey to Fes. Along the way, we’ll make a stop to admire the panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. Lunch will be served either in Midelt or at a suitable spot on our route. Keep an eye out for Barbary apes in the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains.
